Rhyme Scheme: ABBAC DEEDC FGGFC AAAAC HIIHC J

The greatest words are always solitairesA
Set singly in one syllable like birthB
Life love hope peace I sing the worthB
Of that dear word toward which the whole world faresA
I sing of homeC
-
To make a home we should take all of loveD
And much of labour patience and keen joyE
Then mix the elements of earth's alloyE
With finer things drawn from the realms aboveD
The spirit homeC
-
There should be music melody and songF
Beauty in every spot an open doorG
And generous sharing of the pleasure storeG
With fellow pilgrims as they pass alongF
Seeking for homeC
-
Make ample room for silent friends the booksA
That give so much and only ask for spaceA
Nor let Utility crowd out the vaseA
Which has no use save gracing by its looksA
The precious homeC
-
To narrow bounds let mirrors lend their aidH
And multiply each gracious touch of artI
And let the casual stranger feel the partI
The great creative part that love has playedH
Within the homeC
-
Here bring your best in thoughtJ
