Guerdon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEE FFGGHHII

Upon the white cheek of the Cherub YearA
I saw a tearB
Alas I murmured that the Year should borrowC
So soon a sorrowC
Just then the sunlight fell with sudden flameD
The tear becameD
A wondrous diamond sparkling in the lightE
A beauteous sightE
-
Upon my soul there fell such woeful lossF
I said The CrossF
Is grievous for a life as young as mineG
Just then like wineG
God's sunlight shone from His high Heavens downH
And lo a crownH
Gleamed in the place of what I thought a burdenI
My sorrow's guerdonI
