Forward Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDEFF

Let me look always forward Never backA
Was I not formed for progress OtherwiseB
With onward pointing feet and searching eyesB
Would God have set me squarely on the trackA
Up which we all must labour with life's packA
Yonder the goal of all this travel liesB
What matters it if yesterday the skiesB
With light were golden or with clouds were blackA
I would not lose to morrow's glow of dawnC
By peering backward after sun's long setD
New hope is fairer than an old regretD
Let me pursue my journey and press onE
Nor tearful eyed stand ever in one spotF
A briny statue like the wife of LotF
