Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDE FFGG

An unkind tale was whispered in his earA
He paused to hearA
His thoughts were food that helped a falsehood thriveB
And keep aliveB
-
Years dawned and died One day by venom's tongueC
His name was stungC
He cried aloud nor dreamed the lie was spawnD
Of thoughts long goneE
-
Each mental wave we send out from the mindF
Or base or kindF
Completes its circuit then with added forceG
Seeks its own sourceG
