Curious Story Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG AHIJKLM NOPODQRQ STUTABVB WGVGAOXO

I heard such a curious storyA
Of Santa Claus Once so they sayB
He set out to find what people were kindC
Before he took presents their wayB
'This year I will give but to giversD
To those who make presents themselves 'E
With a nod of his head old Santa Claus saidF
To his band of bright officer elvesG
-
-
'Go into the homes of the happyA
Where Pleasure stands page at the doorH
Watch well how they live and report what they giveI
To the hordes of God's suffering poorJ
Keep track of each cent and each momentK
Yea tell me each word too they useL
To silver line clouds for earth's suffering crowdsM
And tell me too when they refuse '-
-
-
So into our homes flew the fairiesN
Though never a soul of us knewO
And with pencil and book they sat by us and tookP
Each action if false or if trueO
White marks for the deeds done for othersD
Black marks for the deeds done for selfQ
And nobody hid what he said or he didR
For no one of course sees an elfQ
-
-
Well Christmas came all in its seasonS
And Santa Claus so I am toldT
With a very light pack of small gifts on his backU
And his reindeers all left in the foldT
Set out on a leisurely journeyA
And finished ere midnight they sayB
And there never had been such surprise and chagrinV
Before on the breaking of dayB
-
-
As there was on that bright Christmas morningW
When stockings and cupboards and shelvesG
Were ransacked and sought in for gifts that were not inV
But wasn't it fun for the elvesG
And what did I get You confuse meA
I got not one thing and that's trueO
But had I suspected my actions detectedX
I would have had gifts wouldn't youO
