Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH IJIJ KIKI ADADI and my Soul are alone to day | A |
All in the shining weather | B |

Our host the Sun in the blue blue sky | C |
Is mixing a rare sweet wine | D |
In the burnished gold of this cup on high | C |
For me and this Soul of mine | D |
- | |
We find it a safe and royal drink | E |
And a cure for every pain | F |
It helps us to love and helps us to think | E |
And strengthens body and brain | F |
- | |
And sitting here with my Soul alone | G |
Where the yellow sun rays fall | H |
Of all the friends I have ever known | G |
I find it the BEST of all | H |
- | |
We rarely meet when the world is near | I |
For the World hath a pleasing art | J |

That my Soul it keepeth apart | J |

But when I grow weary of mirth and glee | K |
Of glitter glow and splendour | I |
Like a tried old friend it comes to me | K |
With a smile that is sad and tender | I |
- | |
And we walk together as two friends may | A |
And laugh and drink God's wine | D |
Oh a royal comrade any day | A |
I find this Soul of mine | D |
