Compensations: 03 - Shut-in Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHII AAJKFF

Across my window glassA
The moving shadows of the people passA
Sometimes the shadow's pause and through the hallB
Kind neighbours come to callB
Bringing a word or smileC
To cheer my loneliness a little whileC
But as I hear them talkD
These people who can walkD
And go about the great green earth at willE
I wonder if they know the joy of being stillE
And all alone with thoughts that soar afarF
High as the highest starF
And oft I feel more freeG
Than those who travel over land and seaG
For one who is shut inH
Away from all the outer strife and dinH
With faithful Pain for guideI
Finds where Great Truths abideI
-
Across my window glassA
The moving shadows passA
But swifter moves my unimpeded thoughtJ
Speeding from spot to spotK
Out and afarF
High as the highest starF
