Communism Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IDIDJDJD GKGKJGJG

When my blood flows calm as a purling riverA
When my heart is asleep and my brain has swayB
It is then that I vow we must part for everA
That I will forget you and put you awayB
Out of my life as a dream is banishedC
Out of the mind when the dreamer awakesD
That I know it will be when the spell has vanishedC
Better for both of our sakesD
-
When the court of the mind is ruled by ReasonE
I know it wiser for us to partF
But Love is a spy who is plotting treasonE
In league with that warm red rebel the HeartF
They whisper to me that the King is cruelG
That his reign is wicked his law a sinH
And every word they utter is fuelG
To the flame that smoulders withinH
-
And on nights like this when my blood runs riotI
With the fever of youth and its mad desiresD
When my brain in vain bids my heart be quietI
When my breast seems the centre of lava firesD
Oh then is when most I miss youJ
And I swear by the stars and my soul and sayD
That I will have you and hold you and kiss youJ
Though the whole world stands in the wayD
-
And like Communists as mad as disloyalG
My fierce emotions roam out of their lairK
They hate King Reason for being royalG
They would fire his castle and burn him thereK
O Love They would clasp you and crush you and kill youJ
In the insurrection of uncontrolG
Across the miles does this wild war thrill youJ
That is raging in my soulG
