Burned Out Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCB ADEED AFGGF

Blow out the light there is no oil to feed itA
That dim blue light unworthy of the nameB
Better to sit with folded hands I sayC
And wait for night to pass and bring the dayC
Than to depend upon that flickering flameB
-
Take back your vow there is no love to bind itA
Take back this little shining golden thingD
Better to walk on bravely all aloneE
Than strive to hold up or retain our ownE
By soulless pledge or fetter of a ringD
-
When first the lamp was lit too high you turned itA
The oil was wasted in a blinding blazeF
Your passion was too ardent in the startG
Set by the lamp farewell God gird the heartG
Through darkened hours and lone and loveless waysF
