The gleaming archway of the bridge of prayer | D |

And through the vapours sometimes dear eyes glisten | E |
Of loved ones who have hastened on before | F |

And angels come from their Celestial City | G |
And meet us half way on the bridge of prayer | D |
God sends them forth full of divinest pity | G |
To strengthen us for burdens we must bear | D |

Oh you whose feet walk in some shadowed by way | H |
Far from the scenes of pleasure and delight | I |
Still free to you hangs this suspended highway | H |
Where heavenly glories dawn upon the sight | I |
