Begin The Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFGHIAAJKLM

Begin each morning with a talk to GodA
And ask for your divine inheritanceB
Of usefulness contentment and successC
Resign all fear all doubt and all despairD
The stars doubt not and they are undismayedA
Though whirled through space for countless centuriesE
And told not why or wherefore and the seaF
With everlasting ebb and flow obeysG
And leaves the purpose with the unseen CauseH
The star sheds its radiance on a million worldsI
The sea is prodigal with waves and yetA
No lustre from the star is lost and notA
One dropp missing from the ocean tidesJ
Oh brother to the star and sea know allK
God s opulence is held in trust for thoseL
Who wait serenely and who work in faithM
