Be Not Weary Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEF GAHAIDJD AKALEMAM

Sometimes when I am toil worn and awearyA
And tired out with working long and wellB
And earth is dark and skies above are drearyA
And heart and soul are all too sick to tellB
These words have come to me like angel fingersC
Pressing the spirit's eyelids down in sleepD
'Oh let us not be weary in well doingE
For in due season we shall surely reap 'F
-
Oh blessed promise When I seem to hear itG
Whispered by angel voices on the airA
It breathes new life and courage to my spiritH
And gives me strength to suffer and forbearA
And I can wait most patiently for harvestI
And cast my seeds nor ever faint nor weepD
If I know surely that my work availethJ
And in God's season I at last shall reapD
-
When mind and body were borne down completelyA
And I have thought my efforts were all in vainK
These words have come to me so softly sweetlyA
And whispered hope and urged me on againL
And though my labour seems all unavailingE
And all my striving fruitless yet the LordM
Doth treasure up each little seed I scatterA
And sometime sometime I shall reap the rewardM
