Awakened! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMKNOPQKR STU VMKK WKXYZOKA2

Slowly the People waken they have beenA
Like weary soldiers sleeping in their tentsB
While traitors tiptoed through the silent campC
Intent on plunder Suddenly a soundD
A careless movement of too bold a thiefE
Starts one dull sleeper then another stirsF
A third cries out a warning and at lastG
The people are awake Oh when as oneH
The many rise united and alertI
With Justice for their motto they reflectJ
The mighty force of God's OmnipotenceK
And nothing stands before them Lusty GreedL
Tyrannical Corruption long in powerM
And smirking Cant whose right hand robs and slaysK
So that the left may dower Church and SchoolN
Monopoly whose mandate took from ToilO
The Mother Earth that Idleness might lollP
And breed the Monster of Colossal WealthQ
All these must fall before the gathering ForceK
Of public indignation That old strifeR
Which marks the progress of each centuryS
The war of Right with Might is on once moreT
And shame to him who does not take his standU
-
This is the weightiest moment of all timeV
And on the issues of the present hourM
A nation's honour and a country's peaceK
A People's future ay a World's dependsK
-
Until the vital questions of the dayW
Are solved and settled and the spendthrift thievesK
Who rob the coffers of the saving poorX
Are led from fashion's feasts to prison fareY
And taught the saving grace of honest workZ
Till Labour claims the privilege of toilO
And toil the proceeds of its labour sharesK
Let no man sleep let no man dare to sleepA2
