At Fontainebleau Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBA DEFDE F

At Fontainebleau I saw a little bedA
Fashioned of polished wood with gold ornateB
Ambition hope and sorrow ay and hateB
Once battled there above a childish headA
And there in vain grief wept and memory pleadC
It was so small but Ah dear God how greatB
The part it played in one sad woman's fateB
How wide the gloom that narrow object shedA
-
The symbol of an over reaching aimD
The emblem of a devastated joyE
It spoke of glory and a blasted homeF
Of fleeting honours and disordered fameD
And the lone passing of a fragile boyE
-
-
-
It was the cradle of the King of RomeF
