| Like mighty billows on my helpless heart | B |
| I know beyond them lies the perfect sweet | A |
| Serenity which patience can impart | B |
| And when wild tempests in my bosom rage | C |
| Peace peace I cry it is my heritage | D |

| And rude disorders mutilate my strength | F |
| A perfect restoration after pain | E |

| And so through grievous day and sleepless night | G |
