Art And Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABB ACAACAA

For many long uninterrupted yearsA
She was the friend and confidant of ArtB
They walked together heart communed with heartB
In that sweet comradeship that so endearsA
Her fondest hope her sorrows and her fearsA
She told her mate who would in turn impartB
Important truths and secrets But a dartB
-
Shot by that unskilled mischevous boy who peersA
From ambush on us struck one day in her breastC
And Love sprang forth to kiss away her tearsA
She thought his brow shone with a wonderous graceA
But when she turned to introduce her guestC
To Art behold she found an empty placeA
The goddess fled with sad averted faceA
