Answered Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHCJKJ ALMLENEN COPOQRSR QETE

Good bye Yes I am goingA
Sudden Well you are rightB
But a startling truth came home to meC
With sudden force last nightB
What is it shall I tell youD
Nay that is why I goE
I am running away from the battlefieldF
Turning my back on the foeE
Riddles You think me cruelG
Have you not been most kindH
Why when you question me like thatI
What answer can I findH
You fear you failed to amuse meC
Your husband s friend and guestJ
Whom he bade you entertain and pleaseK
Well you have done your bestJ
-
Then why you ask am I goingA
A friend of mine abroadL
Whose theories I have been acting uponM
Has proven himself a fraudL
You have heard me quote from PlatoE
A thousand times no doubtN
Well I have discovered he did not knowE
What he was talking aboutN
-
You think I am speaking strangelyC
You cannot understandO
Well let me look down into your eyesP
And let me take your handO
I am running away from dangerQ
I am flying before I fallR
I am going because with heart and soulS
I love you that is allR
-
There now you are white with angerQ
I knew it would be soE
You should not question a man too closeT
When he tells you he must goE
