All That Love Asks Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADD EFFEGG HIIHJJ KAAKL MN MOO

All that I ask 'says Love 'is just to standA
And gaze unchided deep in thy dear eyesB
For in their depths lies largest ParadiseC
Yet if perchance one pressure of thy handA
Be granted me then joy I thought completeD
Were still more sweetD
-
'All that I ask ' says Love 'all that I askE
Is just thy hand clasp Could I brush thy cheekF
As zephyrs brush a rose leaf words are weakF
To tell the bliss in which my soul would baskE
There is no language but would desecrateG
A joy so greatG
-
'All that I ask is just one tender touchH
Of that soft cheek Thy pulsing palm in mineI
Thy dark eyes lifted in a trust divineI
And those curled lips that tempt me overmuchH
Turned where I may not seize the supreme blissJ
Of one mad kissJ
-
'All that I ask ' says Love 'of life of deathK
Or of high heaven itself is just to standA
Glance melting into glance hand twined in handA
The while I drink the nectar of thy breathK
In one sweet kiss but one of all thy storeL
I ask no more '-
-
'All that I ask' nay self deceiving LoveM
Reverse thy phrase so thus the words may fallN
In place of 'all I ask ' say 'I ask all '-
All that pertains to earth or soars aboveM
All that thou wert art will be body soulO
Love asks the wholeO
