Aesthetic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFGF CHCH CACA IJIJ CACA CACA

In a garb that was guiltless of coloursA
She stood with a dull listless airB
A creature of dumps and of doloursA
But most undeniably fairB
-
The folds of her garment fell round herC
Revealing the curve of each limbD
Well proportioned and graceful I found herC
Although quite alarmingly slimD
-
From the hem of her robe peeped one sandalE
High art was she down to her feetF
And though I could not understand allG
She said I could see she was sweetF
-
Impressed by her limpness and languorC
I proffered a chair near at handH
She looked back a mild sort of angerC
Posed anew and continued to standH
-
Some praises I next tried to mutterC
Of the fan that she held to her faceA
She said it was utterly utterC
And waved it with languishing graceA
-
I then in a strain quite poeticI
Begged her gaze on the bow in the skyJ
She looked said its curve was aestheticI
But the tone was too dreadfully highJ
-
Her lovely face lit by the splendourC
That glorified landscape and seaA
Woke thoughts that were daring and tenderC
Did her thoughts too rest upon meA
-
Oh tell me I cried growing bolderC
Have I in your musings a placeA
Well yes she said over her shoulderC
I was thinking of nothing in spaceA
