Advice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFH IDID JKJK LELE MNMN ICIC

I must do as you do Your way I ownA
Is a very good way and stillB
There are sometimes two straight roads to a townC
One over one under the hillB
-
You are treading the safe and the well worn wayD
That the prudent choose each timeE
And you think me reckless and rash to dayD
Because I prefer to climbE
-
Your path is the right one and so is mineF
We are not like peas in a podG
Compelled to lie in a certain lineF
Or else be scattered abroadH
-
'T were a dull old world methinks my friendI
If we all just went one wayD
Yet our paths will meet no doubt at the endI
Though they lead apart todayD
-
You like the shade and I like the sunJ
You like an even paceK
I like to mix with the crowd and runJ
And then rest after the raceK
-
I like danger and storm and strifeL
You like a peaceful timeE
I like the passion and surge of lifeL
You like its gentle rhymeE
-
You like buttercups dewy sweetM
And crocuses framed in snowN
I like roses born of the heatM
And the red carnation's glowN
-
I must live my life not yours my friendI
For so it was written downC
We must follow our given paths to the endI
But I trust we shall meet in townC
