From Sleep's soft arms and said | F |

While May sat munching her crumb | E |
But after the cake there came an ache | G |
Though May cried 'Come Sleep come | E |

All save the echoes were dumb | E |

Ran till the morning light | I |
And just as she caught her and grasped her hand | A |
A nightmare gave her a fright | I |
