A Sculptor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDEDCFGGFHI

As the ambitious sculptor tireless liftsA
Chisel and hammer to the block at handB
Before my half formed character I standB
And ply the shining tools of mental giftsA
I'll cut away a huge unsightly sideC
Of selfishness and smooth to curves of graceD
The angles of ill temperE
And no traceD
Shall my sure hammer leave of silly prideC
Chip after chip must fall from vain desiresF
And the sharp corners of my discontentG
Be rounded into symmetry and lentG
Great harmony by faith that never tiresF
Unfinished still I must toil on and onH
Till the pale critic Death shall say ''Tis done 'I
