A Girl's Faith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH FBFI AJAJ

Across the miles that stretch betweenA
Through days of gloom or glad sunlightB
There shines a face I have not seenA
Which yet doth make my world more brightB
-
He may be near he may be farC
Or near or far I cannot seeD
But faithful as the morning starC
He yet shall rise and come to meD
-
What though fate leads us separate waysE
The world is round and time is fleetF
A journey of a few brief daysE
And face to face we two shall meetF
-
Shall meet beneath God's arching skiesG
While suns shall blaze or stars shall gleamH
And looking in each other's eyesG
Shall hold the past but as a dreamH
-
But round and perfect and completeF
Life like a star shall climb the heightB
As we two press with willing feetF
Together toward the InfiniteI
-
And still behind the space betweenA
As back of dawns the sunbeams playJ
There shines the face I have not seenA
Whose smile shall wake my world to dayJ
