Accepted Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDBD EFEGFG HGHGHG IJIKJK

You are no longer youngA
Nor are you very oldB
There are homes where those belongC
You know you do not fitD
When you observe the coldB
Stares of those who sitD
-
In bath chairs or the parkE
A stick then at their sideF
Or find yourself in the darkE
And see the lovers whoG
In love and in their strideF
Don't even notice youG
-
This is a time to beginH
Your life It could be newG
The sheer not fitting inH
With the old who envy youG
And the young who want to winH
Not knowing false from trueG
-
Means you have libertyI
Denied to their extremesJ
At last now you can beI
What the old cannot recallK
And the young long for in dreamsJ
Yet still include them allK
