Absence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CDCDC EFEGE

I visited the place where we last metA
Nothing was changed the gardens were well tendedB
The fountains sprayed their usual steady jetA
There was no sign that anything had endedB
And nothing to instruct me to forgetA
-
The thoughtless birds that shook out of the treesC
Singing an ecstasy I could not shareD
Played cunning in my thoughts Surely in theseC
Pleasures there could not be a pain to bearD
Or any discord shake the level breezeC
-
It was because the place was just the sameE
That made your absence seem a savage forceF
For under all the gentleness there cameE
An earthquake tremor Fountain birds and grassG
Were shaken by my thinking of your nameE
