Trouvée Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADEF GHIB JKLM NAOA PFQR

Oh why should a henA
have been run overB
on West th StreetC
in the middle of summerB
-
She was a white henA
red and white now of courseD
How did she get thereE
Where was she goingF
-
Her wing feathers spreadG
flat flat in the tarH
all dirtied and thinI
as tissue paperB
-
A pigeon yesJ
or an English sparrowK
might meet such a fateL
but not that poor fowlM
-
Just now I went backN
to look againA
I hadn't dreamed itO
there is a henA
-
turned into a quaintP
old country sayingF
scribbled in chalkQ
except for the beakR
