The Colder The Air Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCA DEDEFD GHIHIG

We must admire her perfect aimA
this huntress of the winter airB
whose level weapon needs no sightC
if it were not that everywhereB
her game is sure her shot is rightC
The least of us could do the sameA
-
The chalky birds or boats stand stillD
reducing her conditions of chanceE
air's gallery marks identicallyD
the narrow gallery of her glanceE
The target center in her eyeF
is equally her aim and willD
-
Time's in her pocket ticking loudG
on one stalled second She'll consultH
not time nor circumstance She callsI
on atmosphere for her resultH
It is this clock that later fallsI
in wheels and chimes of leaf and cloudG
