Seascape Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHGGIJDKLGMNOP KPQ

This celestial seascape with white herons got up as angelsA
flying high as they want and as far as they want sidewiseB
in tiers and tiers of immaculate reflectionsC
the whole region from the highest heronD
down to the weightless mangrove islandE
with bright green leaves edged neatly with bird droppingsF
like illumination in silverG
and down to the suggestively Gothic arches of the mangrove rootsH
and the beautiful pea green back pastureG
where occasionally a fish jumps like a wildflowerG
in an ornamental spray of sprayI
this cartoon by Raphael for a tapestry for a PopeJ
it does look like heavenD
But a skeletal lighthouse standing thereK
in black and white clerical dressL
who lives on his nerves thinks he knows betterG
He thinks that hell rages below his iron feetM
that that is why the shallow water is so warmN
and he knows that heaven is not like thisO
Heaven is not like flying or swimmingP
but has something to do with blackness and a strong glareK
and when it gets dark he will remember somethingP
strongly worded to say on the subjectQ
