| flying high as they want and as far as they want sidewise | B |
| in tiers and tiers of immaculate reflections | C |
| the whole region from the highest heron | D |
| down to the weightless mangrove island | E |
| with bright green leaves edged neatly with bird droppings | F |
| like illumination in silver | G |
| and down to the suggestively Gothic arches of the mangrove roots | H |
| and the beautiful pea green back pasture | G |
| where occasionally a fish jumps like a wildflower | G |
| in an ornamental spray of spray | I |

| But a skeletal lighthouse standing there | K |

| who lives on his nerves thinks he knows better | G |
| He thinks that hell rages below his iron feet | M |
| that that is why the shallow water is so warm | N |
| and he knows that heaven is not like this | O |
| Heaven is not like flying or swimming | P |
| but has something to do with blackness and a strong glare | K |
| and when it gets dark he will remember something | P |
