Intimate, Low-voiced, Delicate Things Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKLMNOO PQNQRSOO

It is marvellous to wake up togetherA
At the same minute marvellous to hearB
The rain begin suddenly all over the roofC
To feel the air suddenly clearD
As if electricity had passed through itE
From a black mesh of wires in the skyF
All over the roof the rain hissesG
And below the light falling of kissesH
-
An electrical storm is coming or moving awayI
It is the prickling air that wakes us upJ
If lighting struck the house now it would runK
From the four blue china balls on topL
Down the roof and down the rods all around usM
And we imagine dreamilyN
How the whole house caught in a bird cage of lightningO
Would be quite delightful rather than frighteningO
-
And from the same simplified point of viewP
Of night and lying flat on one's backQ
All things might change equally easilyN
Since always to warn us there must be these blackQ
Electrical wires dangling Without surpriseR
The world might change to something quite differentS
As the air changes or the lightning comes without our blinkingO
Change as our kisses are changing without our thinkingO
