First Death In Nova Scotia Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEFEA GHGEIEJEBG AKALEMBINI EEOHPAQRSA BLTBEUVEJV

In the cold cold parlorA
my mother laid out ArthurA
beneath the chromographsB
Edward Prince of WalesB
with Princess AlexandraC
and King George with Queen MaryD
Below them on the tableE
stood a stuffed loonF
shot and stuffed by UncleE
Arthur Arthur's fatherA
-
Since Uncle Arthur firedG
a bullet into himH
he hadn't said a wordG
He kept his own counselE
on his white frozen lakeI
the marble topped tableE
His breast was deep and whiteJ
cold and caressableE
his eyes were red glassB
much to be desiredG
-
Come said my motherA
Come and say good byeK
to your little cousin ArthurA
I was lifted up and givenL
one lily of the valleyE
to put in Arthur's handM
Arthur's coffin wasB
a little frosted cakeI
and the red eyed loon eyed itN
from his white frozen lakeI
-
Arthur was very smallE
He was all white like a dollE
that hadn't been painted yetO
Jack Frost had started to paint himH
the way he always paintedP
the Maple Leaf ForeverA
He had just begun on his hairQ
a few red strokes and thenR
Jack Frost had dropped the brushS
and left him white foreverA
-
The gracious royal couplesB
were warm in red and ermineL
their feet were well wrapped upT
in the ladies' ermine trainsB
They invited Arthur to beE
the smallest page at courtU
But how could Arthur goV
clutching his tiny lilyE
with his eyes shut up so tightJ
and the roads deep in snowV
