The Banner Of Union Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FFGFFHFH FDED

Bring the Harp of the West and the Pipes of the NorthA
When our Trumpet note calls to the fieldB
Let the men of old Scotia and Erin come forthA
And our foemen shall see who must yieldB
-
Side by side in the battle like granite we'll standC
With a will and a might none shall severD
For Glory or Death we will twine in one wreathE
Rose Shamrock and Thistle for everD
-
Our Banner of Union shall float in the windF
Over hearts that have never yet quailedF
The sword shall be drawn and the banner be borneG
By hands that have never yet failedF
Sons of heather your fame in the fightF
Is as old as your glens and your valleysH
Men of Hibernia let Right ask for MightF
And where is the spirit but ralliesH
-
Side by side in the battle like granite we'll standF
With a will and a might none shall severD
For Glory or Death we will twine in one wreathE
Rose Shamrock and Thistle for everD
