through the boiling reefs black as they are | D |
the enemy of us all makes sure of it | E |
Mariners keep good watch always | F |
for that last passage of blue water | G |
we have heard of and long to reach | H |
no matter if we cannot no matter | G |
in our eighty year old timbers | I |
leaky and patched as they are but sweet | J |
well seasoned with the scent of woods | K |
long perished serviceable still | L |
in unarrested pungency | K |
of salt and blistering sunlight Out | M |
push it all out into the unknown | N |
Unknown is best it beckons best | O |
like distant ships in mist or bells | K |
clanging ruthless from stormy buoys | K |
