When a heavy surf is droningA
-
In the twilight on the barB
When our Mother Sea is crooningA
-
Her quaint cradle song afarB
-
When the wild black swans are liningA
To some still remote lagoonC
-
And above the headland shiningA
Hangs a quiet crescent moonC
-
When the panoply the splendorD
-
Of the tropic sunset diesE
Then my Fancy turns to tenderD
-
Dreams beneath the queenly skiesE
-
Dear loved Loadstone of my longingA
Fair fond Woman of my heartF
-
When the twilight thoughts are throngingA
Art thou dreaming too apartF
-
Yes my Spirit echoes trulyG
-
'Circling seas shall with the tideH
Pulse on either shore of ThuleG
-
In the Dream BeatifiedH
-
'Surely as the mystic CrescentI
Silvers now a garden fairJ
Will the shining white liquescentI
Light of Love burn also thereJ
-
So I mourn not that the splendorD
Of the dead Day lies in pallG
-
When the Night her brooding tenderD
Wings of fantasy lets fallG
-
In the dusk Tm sitting buildingA
Tall cloud castles by the seaG
-
In the dusk my Love is gildingA
Castles fair for her and meG
