Roderic Quinn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBA CCDEFD GDHIIH

No more will Rod his lyrics singA
As tuneful as the thrush when SpringA
With minstrel voice is callingA
As joyous as the gentle chimeB
Of bellbirds in the SummertimeB
From sylvan spires down fallingA
-
The harp is mute from which he drewC
The magic of a music newC
Of woods and golden beachesD
Its silent strings tell ne'er againE
Enraptured tales of hill and plainF
And gleaming river reachesD
-
But this fair land shall ever beG
Indebted to his minstrelsyD
So written on the portalH
Of Art's proud temple will his nameI
Go down forevermore in fameI
Untarnished and immortalH
