Song: Love's Close Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEDCB FEGHIHGE

Now spring comes round againA
With blossom on the treeB
Dark blossom of the peachC
Light blossom of the pearD
And amorous birds complainE
And nesting birds prepareD
And love's keen fingers reachC
After the heart of meB
-
But now the blackthorn blowsF
About the dusty laneE
And new buds peep and peerG
I have no joy at allH
For love draws near its closeI
And love's white blossoms fallH
And in the springing yearG
Love's fingers bring me painE
