In Absence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGFGAA| My lovely one be near to me to night | A |
| For now I need you most since I have gone | B |
| Through the sparse woodland in the fading light | A |
| Where in time past we two have walked alone | C |
| Heard the loud nightjar spin his pleasant note | D |
| And seen the wild rose folded up for sleep | E |
| And whispered though the soft word choked my throat | D |
| Your dear name out across the valley deep | E |
| Be near to me for now I need you most | F |
| To night I saw an unsubstantial flame | G |
| Flickering along those shadowy paths a ghost | F |
| That turned to me and answered to your name | G |
| Mocking me with a wraith of far delight | A |
| My lovely one be near to me to night | A |
