At A Lecture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEBE FBDB

The lecturer took his place and lookedA
At the eager women's facesB
Then he cleared his throat and he jetted outC
A stream of commonplacesB
-
He fondled Wordsworth and patted ShelleyD
And said with his hand on his heartE
He would brook no interference from moralsB
In any matter of artE
-
He finished at last and strode awayF
Over the naked boardsB
Erect in his conscious majestyD
Back to the House of LordsB
