Comparisons Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EBFG HIFG EIJG KLMN EOLG C

Touch my hands with your fingers yellow wallflowerA
Did God use a bluer paintB
Painting the sky for the gold sunC
Or making the sea about your two black starsD
-
Treasure the touches of my fingersE
God did not spread his bluest paintB
On a hollow sky or a girl's eyeF
But on a topaz chain from you to meG
-
Touch my temples with your fingers scarlet roseH
Did God use a stronger lightI
When He fashioned and dropped the sun into the skyF
Or dropped your black stars into their blue seaG
-
Treasure the touches of my fingersE
God did not spend His strongest lightI
On a sun above or a look of loveJ
But on a round gold ring from you to meG
-
Touch my cheeks with your fingers blue hyacinthK
Did God use a whiter silkL
Weaving the veil for your fevered rosesM
Or spinning the moon that lies across your faceN
-
Treasure the touches of my fingersE
God did not waste His whitest webO
On veils of silk or moons of milkL
But on a marriage cap from you to meG
-
