In The Cathedral Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCEFC| THE altar lights burn low the incense fume | A |
| Sickens O listen how the priestly prayer | B |
| Runs as a fenland stream a dim despair | B |
| Hails through their chaunt of praise who here inhume | A |
| A clay cold Faith within its carven tomb | A |
| But come thou forth into the vital air | B |
| Keen dark and pure grave Night is no betrayer | B |
| And if perchance some faint cold star illume | A |
| Her brow of mystery shall we walk forlorn | C |
| An altar of the natural rock may rise | D |
| Somewhere for men who seek there may be borne | C |
| On the night wind authentic prophecies | E |
| If not let this to breathe sane breath suffice | F |
| Till in yon East mayhap the dark be worn | C |
