Song - Say, Lovely Dream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC ADAD BEBE FGFG HIJI AKAK

Say lovely dream where couldst thou findA
Shadows to counterfeit that faceB
Colors of this glorious kindA
Come not from any mortal placeB
-
In heaven itself thou sure wert drestA
With that angel like disguiseC
Thus deluded am I blestA
And see my joy with closed eyesC
-
But ah this image is too kindA
To be other than a dreamD
Cruel Sacharissa's mindA
Never put on that sweet extremeD
-
Fair dream if thou intend'st me graceB
Change that heavenly face of thineE
Paint despised love in thy faceB
And make it to appear like mineE
-
Pale wan and meager let it lookF
With a pity moving shapeG
Such as wander by the brookF
Of Lethe or from graves escapeG
-
Then to that matchless nymph appearH
In whose shape thou shinest soI
Softly in her sleeping earJ
With humble words express my woeI
-
Perhaps from greatness state and prideA
Thus surprised she may fallK
Sleep does disproportion hideA
And death resembling equals allK
