Thiepval Wood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDBEE

The tired air groans as the heavies swing over the river hollows boomA
The shell fountains leap from the swamps and with wildfire and fumeA
The shoulder of the chalkdown convulsesB
Then the jabbering echoes stampede in the slatting woodC
Ember black the gibbet trees like bones or thorns protrudeD
From the poisonous smoke past all impulsesB
To them these silvery dews can never again be dearE
Nor the blue javelin flame of the thunderous noons strike fearE
