Elijah Browning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDCEFGHIJKLMNOPQG RSTUVWGXYSZGA2S

I was among multitudes of childrenA
Dancing at the foot of a mountainA
A breeze blew out of the east and swept them as leavesB
Driving some up the slopes All was changedC
Here were flying lights and mystic moons and dream musicD
A cloud fell upon us When it lifted all was changedC
I was now amid multitudes who were wranglingE
Then a figure in shimmering gold and one with a trumpetF
And one with a sceptre stood before meG
They mocked me and danced a rigadoon and vanishedH
All was changed again Out of a bower of poppiesI
A woman bared her breasts and lifted her open mouth to mineJ
I kissed her The taste of her lips was like saltK
She left blood on my lips I fell exhaustedL
I arose and ascended higher but a mist as from an icebergM
Clouded my steps I was cold and in painN
Then the sun streamed on me againO
And I saw the mists below me hiding all below themP
And I bent over my staff knew myselfQ
Silhouetted against the snow And above meG
Was the soundless air pierced by a cone of iceR
Over which hung a solitary starS
A shudder of ecstasy a shudder of fearT
Ran through me But I could not return to the slopesU
Nay I wished not to returnV
For the spent waves of the symphony of freedomW
Lapped the ethereal cliffs about meG
Therefore I climbed to the pinnacleX
I flung away my staffY
I touched that starS
With my outstretched handZ
I vanished utterlyG
For the mountain delivers to Infinite TruthA2
Whosoever touches the starS
