Until She Died Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACCDEEDFFGHHGIIJK KLMMUntil she died we never knew | A |
The beauty of our faith in God | B |
We'd seen the summer roses nod | B |
And wither as the tempests blew | A |
Through many a spring we'd lived to see | C |
The buds returning to the tree | C |
We had not felt the touch of woe | D |
What cares had come had lightly flown | E |
Our burdens we had borne alone | E |
The need of God we did not know | D |
It seemed sufficient through the days | F |
To think and act in worldly ways | F |
And then she closed her eyes in sleep | G |
She left us for a little while | H |
No more our lives would know her smile | H |
And oh the hurt of it went deep | G |
It seemed to us that we must fall | I |
Before the anguish of it all | I |
Our faith which had not known the test | J |
Then blossomed with its comfort sweet | K |
Promised that some day we should meet | K |
And whispered to us 'He knows best ' | L |
And when our bitter tears were dried | M |
We found our faith was glorified | M |
