Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDE FGHGBIJK LMNMOPQP RJSJTQUQ

Forgotten petty difference nowA
The larger purpose glowsB
The storm is here a common fearC
Its deadly lightning showsB
The Ship of State must bear us allD
And danger makes us kinE
As one we all shall rise or fallD
So shall we strive to winE
-
Our banner's flying at the mastF
Our course lies straight aheadG
The ocean's trough is deep and roughH
The waves are stained with redG
The bond of danger tighter growsB
We serve a common planI
Send o'er the sea the word that weJ
Are all AmericanK
-
One hundred million sturdy soulsL
Once more united standM
As one you will find them all behindN
The banner of our landM
And side by side they work to dayO
In silken garb or ragP
And once again our troops of menQ
Are brothers of the flagP
-
And from the storm that hovers lowR
And from the angry seaJ
Where dangers lurk and hate's at workS
Shall come new victoryJ
The flag shall know not race nor creedT
Nor different bands of menQ
A people strong round it shall throngU
To ne'er divide againQ
