| But when he meets a widow young an' fair | D |
| Ma never leaves them chatting very long | E |

| Besides he's growing old an' bald an' fat | F |
| But just the same when we have friends for tea | G |
| An' Ma has shown 'em where their places are | C |
| Although she trusts him most implicitly | G |
| She never puts the pretty girls by Pa | A |
