Toys Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDED FGHGIJHJ KALAMDND BOKOCDPD

trace of a sighA
The things on a shelf that I'd like for myselfB
I never regret I can't buyA
I can go through the town passing store after storeC
Showing things it would please me to ownD
With never a trace of despair on my faceE
But I can't let a toy shop aloneD
-
I can throttle the love of fine raiment to deathF
And I don't know the craving for rumG
But I do know the joy that is born of a toyH
And the pleasure that comes with a drumG
I can reckon the value of money at timesI
And govern my purse strings with senseJ
But I fall for a toy for my girl or my boyH
And never regard the expenseJ
-
It's seldom I sigh for unlimited goldK
Or the power of a rich man to buyA
My courage is stout when the doing withoutL
Is only my duty but IA
Curse the shackles of thrift when I gaze at the toysM
That my kiddies are eager to ownD
And I'd buy everything that they wish for by JingN
If their mother would let me aloneD
-
There isn't much fun spending coin on myselfB
For neckties and up to date lidsO
But there's pleasure tenfold in the silver and goldK
I part with for things for the kidsO
I can go through the town passing store after storeC
Showing things it would please me to ownD
But to thrift I am lost I won't reckon the costP
When I'm left in a toy shop aloneD
