Yet Fame hath crowned with her success | D |
The selfsame gifts that you possess | D |
The great were young as you | A |
Dreaming the very dreams you hold | E |
Longing yet fearing to be bold | E |
Doubting that they themselves possessed | F |
The strength and skill for every test | F |
Uncertain of the truths they knew | A |
Not sure that they could stand to fate | G |
With all the courage of the great | G |
Then came a day when they | B |
Their first bold venture made | H |
Scorning to cry for aid | H |
They dared to stand to fight alone | I |
Took up the gauntlet life had thrown | I |
Charged full front to the fray | B |
Mastered their fear of self and then | J |
Learned that our great men are but men | J |
