The Town Of Nothing-to-do Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GBHBIJKJ LMNMOBPB BQRQASTS

THEY say somewhere in the distance fairA
Is the town of Nothing to DoB
Where the sun they say shines every dayC
And the skies are always blueB
Where no one tries for a silver prizeD
And no one strives for goldE
There every race has taken placeF
And every tale been toldE
-
The blacksmith sings as his anvil ringsG
Of the town of Nothing to DoB
And vows in his song though the road is longH
When with anvil and forge he's throughB
He will wander far where the glad folks areI
And will rest in that happy townJ
He dreams of the day when he'll put for ayeK
His apron and hammer downJ
-
O it matters not what the toiler's lotL
Be he preacher or soldier braveM
Though he delve a ditch be he great or richN
Be judge or a statesman graveM
He dreams always of the future daysO
When he'll go to Nothing to DoB
When he's faced life's test and his hands will restP
And his time of toil is throughB
-
But Nothing to Do folks tell me whoB
Have journeyed the hills and found itQ
Is a hollow fake and a big mistakeR
For the streams of care surround itQ
And the people there they all declareA
Are gloomy and sad and sighingS
And they yearn for strife for the joy of lifeT
Is something to do worth tryingS
