The Right To Joy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EBEBFGFG

I DO not ask for roses all the timeA
For blue skies bending o'er me every dayB
I do not ask for easy hills to climbA
And always for my feet a pleasant wayB
In laughter I would not spend all my lifeC
And miss the joy of sweet and sacred painD
I want to know life's burden and its strifeC
And feel upon my cheek the splash of rainD
-
I merely pray for strength enough to bearE
My burdens and to tread the rugged wayB
To keep the right howe'er beset with careE
To stand unflinching face front to the frayB
And I would claim life's roses for my ownF
But I would win my right to know their sweetG
To level paths I'd march my way aloneF
For victory I'd venture with defeatG
