The Path That Leads To Home Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJBABA KDKDLMLM CBCBNANA

The little path that leads to homeA
That is the road for meB
I know no finer path to roamA
With finer sights to seeB
With thoroughfares the world is linedC
That lead to wonders newD
But he who treads them leaves behindC
The tender things and trueD
-
Oh north and south and east and westE
The crowded roadways goF
And sweating brow and weary breastE
Are all they seem to knowF
And mad for pleasure some are bentG
And some are seeking fameH
And some are sick with discontentG
And some are bruised and lameH
-
Across the world the gleaming steelI
Holds out its lure for menJ
But no one finds his comfort realI
Till he comes home againJ
And charted lanes now line the seaB
For weary hearts to roamA
But Oh the finest path to meB
Is that which leads to homeA
-
'Tis there I come to laughing eyesK
And find a welcome trueD
'Tis there all care behind me liesK
And joy is ever newD
And Oh when every day is doneL
Upon that little streetM
A pair of rosy youngsters runL
To me with flying feetM
-
The world with myriad paths is linedC
But one alone for meB
One little road where I may findC
The charms I want to seeB
Though thoroughfares majestic callN
The multitude to roamA
I would not leave to know them allN
The path that leads to homeA
